| First of all, if you don't already have this handy little tool, you should download it! Basically, UVMapper generates template maps of .obj files. You will realize that, not only UVMapper is handy for Poser but, it is also handy for any .obj file you create or freely download over the internet to use in Bryce or Vue d'Esprit. |
||
| Although UVMapper is useful for many other things, we will only concentrate on one of its virtues in this tutorial. As an example on how to obtain a template for an .obj file, we will start by generating a template for Posette's (Poser's standard P4 female model) bikini top . After you've downloaded and installed UVMapper (follow enclosed instructions to install), open it (Fig. 1). |

| To generate a template for the bikini top, click on "File". | ||
| Click on "Load model". | ||
| Look in: C:\Program Files\MetaCreations\Poser 4\Runtime\Geometries\Poser4Clothes\Bikini\BikiniTop.obj |
||
| Click "OK" on the next screen (Fig. 2). | ||
| Resize the window with your mouse so you can have a good look at it (how much you resize does not matter). | ![]() Fig. 3 |
|
| It should look something like Fig. 3. | ||
| Now, to save the template, click on "File". | ||
| Click on "Save Texture Map...". | ||
| In the "Bitmap Size" boxes, type "1000" in each. Leave all other boxes unchecked. | ||
| Click "OK". | ||
| Save the "BikiniTop.bmp" file in any folder you wish to keep your templates in. | ||
| Click here to download the "BikiniTop.bmp". When the screen opens, just right-click and save to your hard drive. | ||
| Remember, you can use the same instructions to generate a template of Posette's or Victoria's clothes as well as any other object or prop to which you have an .obj file for! | ||
