Applying Textures to Poser models
o¤oOo¤oOo¤oOo¤oOo¤oOo¤o

This is a simple tutorial to apply textures to a Poser model (be it a human model or a clothing apparel or any other object.) In this tutorial, we will be applying the texture we created in the Making Textures for Poser Models tutorial to Posette's bikini top.

Open Poser.

Delete the model the program opens with.

Your screen should look something like Image 1.

On the right side of your screen, in the galleries, under "Figures", under "Characters - Female", chose the Default Poser female model and click on the double check marks (Image 2).

Once your model is on the screen, look under "Figures", "Clothing - Female", and click once on the Bikini Top and click once on the double check marks to apply it. Next, do the same for the Bikini Bottom.

NOTE:
Figure 1 is the Poser female model.
Figure 2 is the bikini bottom.
Figure 3 is the bikini top.

You will notice that the Bikini Bottom looks slightly off (Image 3). To remedy this:

Since Figure 2 (the bikini bottom) is already selected (look at the pull down menu at the bottom of the screen, next to "Main Camera"), click on "Figure" (menu top of the screen);

Click on "Conform to...";

On the "ChooseFigure" screen, change "None" to "Figure 1", which is the female model;

Click "OK". There! The bikini bottom is where it's supposed to be! (Image 4)

Now, we're going to apply the texture we made in the Making Textures for Poser Models tutorial to the bikini top (Figure 3 on the Poser model).

Select Figure 3 (look at the pull down menu at the bottom of the screen, next to "Main Camera") ;

Click on "Render" (menu top of the screen);

Click on "Materials";

In the Surface Material screen (Image 5), make sure "Figure 3" is selected under "Object" (green circle);

Take a look at all the parts of the bikini top under "Material" (red circle);

Click and select "Texture changes apply to entire figure" (blue circle);

Load the bikini top texture under"Texture Map" (yellow circle);

Now, change the "Object Color", "Highlight Color", "Ambient Color", and "Reflective Color" to white, black, black, white, respectively (purple circle). This will have changed the colors only under the first item selected under "Material" (red circle). Therefore, in the pull down menu of "Material" select the next item, "cloth" and apply the same colors to it. Do the same for "skin" and "preview";

Click "OK". You're done with texturing the bikini top! (Image 6).

The above tutorial should work for any .obj you wish to texture (bikini top, bikini bottom, dress, even the female model itself!). I would suggest you play a little with the Object, Highlight, Ambient, and Reflective Colors. You'll be surprised at the results!
