Very cool iPad app (graphic-related, of course)!

Today, I discovered Tangled FX by Orange Qube. What a jewel. I love the presets on this thing! I used to spend hours and tons of money scouring the web for effects and add-ons for Photoshop and I loved playing with Gimp just for the special effects. These guys at Orange Qube, they've done a really cool job with this app.  It's simple and the effects are stunning. I get excited when I find apps like these because I love apps that inspire me to create again.

This is "Three Little Birds", circa 2004..."Tangled" in 2014 ;-) I just love all the colors.

The Reincarnation of GraphicsMuse.com

In July of 2001, I launched GraphicsMuse.com with the sole purpose of showcasing my artwork.  I taught myself HTML using Notepad, and learned Photoshop, Poser, Bryce, DAZ Studio, and even Vue d'Esprit.

In August of 2003, I joined Renderosity.com where my gallery is still available.  While on Renderosity, I was approached by an author (who is now a well-known published author with her own movie based on her books in the works) and invited to consider creating book covers for an online publisher.  This invitation opened a new door for me and, over 100 book covers later, I'm still amazed at how this all worked out.

Then, in August of 2007, at the age of 37, I had a mini-stroke (transient ischemic attack or TIA) brought on by a heart birth defect.  The TIA impacted my right side (my handwriting has not been the same) and poked holes in my memory.  For some reason, I lost my creative drive and stopped working on my own artwork. Thankfully, I was still able to work on book covers but my own artwork was just not giving me any more pleasure.  Since then, graphicsmuse.com has been left mostly untouched and, I think it's time to properly retire it.

After much thought, I've decided to keep my domain name (it's been mine for a long time) and redirect it to this blog.  I'm not much of a writer as I don't think I have much to say that would interest anyone but, I really want to keep my "spot" on the internet.  I've been dabbling in iPad painting/creative apps and I'd like to, eventually, show them off here.

This, as everything else in my life, is a work in progress.  Stay tuned.
